Twelve year-old Elyse Coates-McCarthy decided to do something against the dredging and organised The 1km Kids Swim To Save Our Bay ocean swim in her hometown of Mornington. On the 19th of January she took to the water with over 75 over kids to swim in protest. The swim was an enormous success, not only was it stacks of fun, it got media coverage sending the right message to The Government, raised awareness of what the dredging will do and has inspired other people to get involved too!
